mike's manly adventures, continued

been puttin' on the joint compound and sanding the wall - might be ready to prime it tomorrow...

one room almost painted - will start on the next...

to be continued...

a few weeks back, i posted an entry about a country version of ac/dc's shook me all night long. thanks to the college of musical knowledge, aka kelly (i'm not worthy! i'm not worthy!), the cd was identified as hayseed dixie: a hillbilly tribute to ac/dc. well, at a trip to k-mart today to get painting supplies (drop cloths and power-ade) i picked it up. as suspected it is inspired lunacy. well, maybe not THAT inspired. still a great cd. i listened to it on the way home. how is it not being THAT much of a country/bluegrass fan (ok, i LOVE alison kraus), nor much of an AC/DC- Heavy Metal fan (for me, blue cheer wrote the book), that i love this cd so much...

anyhow, when i get home, my wife is playing coldplay - a record i normally love - but today, raucous hillbillies seems to fit the bill more than dour, too smart british blokes...perhaps, i am embracing my inner redneck.

speaking of painting and such, athough i'm not much of a handy man, i put up drywall yesterday and painting today. i feel so manly - prob. smell it as well (though, thankfully, today is cooler).

as a great touch to hayseed dixie's cd, the back cover photo has them with their eyes covered with a black bar - nice!

taco bell is having a contest, where you can win free gas and some will even win free gas for a year - which is odd as i thought EVERYONE that went to taco bell got free gas - if not for a year, than at least for a few hours

after the yoga class i taught sunday, i was sore until wednesday. i don't know if that makes me a good teacher or a horrible student.

students brought to my attention the official arnold for governor site in a web development class. the flash, splash page is kind of bad technique and we thought it was just a parody site, but nope, it's for real...

in other related news, ianother "arnold" running for governor is gary coleman whose name was "arnold" in different strokes.... hmmmm - which arnold would YOU vote for?

just in time for the first week of classes, these public speaking tips

my favorite is the analogy between public speaking and riding a bike...

of course, the one about weird al rings true as well...

according to a web quiz, my site is 68% good and 32% evil...

what do you think?
