among other reasons that top spin on the xbox is my new obsession - when you throw your racket on a grass court, it makes a different sound than on a hard court...

a big reason i like bbc6 is their presenters. besides red dwarf star, craig charles who has a weekly funk show, there is musician tom robinson - very knowledgable in music - and everything else...and his heart is in the right place. i have corresponded w/him via email. what an intelligent and witty man.

my yesterday's post might seem like a bit of a downer - re-reading it i see it is a little grimmer than i intended. i genuinely like people and people seem to like me. i often find myself being able to be friendly with groups of people who don't like each other - i have a fairly even temperament - can see things from diff viewpoints and don't hold differences in opininion (even strong differences) against people....

i just in general find that while many folks "like" me, i am not particularly close to very many people - perhaps this is not unusual - maybe no one is....

when i talk to my colleagues and peers, frankly, what many of them find interesting or are concerned with bores me to tears - and i'm sure to them, i am the village oddball - nice, pleasant and even fun to talk to, definitely not dangerous, but not someone you'd invite over for dinner...

many of the folks i do feel close to, i have become separated from - by geography, or other circumstances

i have no idea why i don't connect with people. and i don't say this in the sense of "i'm too cool for everyone else", but moreso "what the hell is wrong with me that i can't seem to connect". the precious few i seem to connect with, there are obstacles that keep me from, you know - connecting. i am sure i don't make much sense here. please don't make comments to make me feel better....i mean, i'll be fine, but....
