questions from jen

1) Realistically, what do you want most for Christmas realistically means no lear jet, no Ferrari, not even world peace, 'cause you ain't
gettin it.)

ok, assuming "realistically" also means no rachel ray as my personal chef, then i will say, i want this holiday to be special for my kids - something they will remember their whole lives and, i hope, for more than the gifts they receive. of course, if i don't get alias - season 1 on dvd, i will pout until my birthday

2) What do your kids want more than anything else?
oldest: a digital video cam. youngest: nothing special - she wants it all :-)

3) Are you finished with your holiday shopping?
not quite yet - maybe tomorrow - i am close

4) Are you sick of christmas carols yet?
not really - haven't heard too many yet - it;s the end of our turn and i am very busy. i did get the crash test dummies christmas cd from the library and it is, uh, quite interesting

5) Is it pretty and snowy where you are?
it was pretty and snowing about a week ago - now just grey and wet. "pretty' and "snowy" can only be said together in a sentence pre-12/25, fyi...

i've read a lot about the flu going around nationwide. it seems to me that the flu bug is much more vicious than in the past. i swear i just shook it a few days ago and i feel like i am getting it again. so i don't know if it never went away and is just making a comeback, or if this a new bug. this is the last week of the term, perhaps my resistence is down. blech

three cheers for natalie portman's new 'do

ECM Records: Veggie

nice!!!

almost as good as discovering a new artist is REdiscovering an old artist that you love and get into them again like it's the first time...case in point my recent herbie hancock binge. granted, some of his recordings are dodgy, but when he's on his game...sextant, mwandishi, maiden voyage, miles' quintet, joe henderson's jobim cd, and the recent future2future - few can top him - or play outstandingly in such wildly different styles...

he is a mac user fwiw...

avantegarde

You're Avante Garde Indie. You listen to abstract
music like free-jazz and Krautrock. You drink
too much coffee and you scare the f***out of
the rest of us. We're afraid to call you
pretentious because we know that we all just
don't get it. There are few of you out there,
and most of you will probably die soon.

You Know Yer Indie. Let's Sub-Categorize.
